Luardos (burritos, occasional tacos)

The grub: Homemade burritos stuffed with chicken breast, carnitas, chipotle or a veggie filling, Montery Jack cheese, rice, black beans, fresh coriander, three types of hot sauce, pico salsa, sour cream and iceberg lettuce. All wrapped up in squidgy tortilla with optional guacamole and chorizo. LSF recommends: getting down there on a cold day for slow-cooked pork with medium salsa. Good for a hangover. If you’re lucky, they’ll be cooking fresh fish tacos too.

The vibe: Busy. Queues stretch out from a green H Van known as Jesus H who says he can perform “food-related miracles” on Whitecross Street Market. His hot pink sister Mary is the traveller of the two so keep track of their twitter feed for info on where she’s got to (last seen: Brockley Market, SE4)

The story: Simon Luard has been selling since Christmas 2006 with John Bell and Sarah Maxwell. It all started because he had £10k in the bank and couldn’t think of a better way to spend it.
