Fish! Burgers! Ice cream! Sunshine! Tonight…

Tonight
FOR some it will be their first time – others are becoming old hands at Friday feasting by now – but most of them will have been up all night stirring, mixing and grilling in preparation for this evening. These are the street food traders due to feed us tonight off Brick Lane: tonight is when Street Feast London and eat.st market collaborate for the first time and seven new sellers have been added to the roster.
If you’ve been reading London Street Foodie lately, you’ll know that Green Goat Food is my seller of the week. The good news is that on top of the usual Friday trader crowd in Sclater St carpark, Jan and Claude will also be there selling sardines and cous cous or mighty Moroccan lamb burgers (write up here – they’re also on Battersea High Street tomorrow), a family of Seychelles-inspired sellers called VinnGouteĀ is giving us a taste of what is sold at Portobello Fine Foods market at weekends (I was there a fortnight ago trying the parrot fish cakes and tuna fish samosa – write up here), and there will be a few others including burgers from Mother Flipper and rose water and cardamom ice cream from Sorbitum Ices.
Other suspects from LSF include The Bowler’s meatballs, Hardcore Prawn’s BBQ skewers, The Ribman and hopefully Angus Denoon Duncan’s Jaal Mori Express, all included in this same post.
Things kick off at 5pm and you can find it off Brick Lane just by Shoreditch high street station.
Next weekend: Evening Standard street food stall
If you need inspiration for other things to eat this weekend, check the LSF map here to see who is serving. Weekend recommendations include Brockley Market, Battersea High Street and Netil Market. Incidentally, I will be selling food from a stall in a secret location this weekend… it’s a practice run for a street food stall I’m running at the World Street Food market over the Jubilee bank hol. Stay tuned for updates…
