The Long Table: a street food feat

For my first entry, I’d like to applaud Nuno Mendes and the Bootstrap Company for pulling off their latest project, The Long Table, a pop-up outdoor street food market in Dalston that had gigantic queues stretching onto the street from the word go.
I went in the first week (tonight’s was the final one before Christmas) to share some of the best dishes with a few friends. Our favourites were Lucky Chip for the best, most succulent, non-greasy burgers since the #MEATEASY pop up in New Cross last year, The Bowler for its beautiful fresh pasta and herby meatballs in a box, Nuno’s The Loft Project for an incredible plate of ribs with mushrooms (worth queueing for) and Regina’s wonderful smoked aubergine dal which sold out at her Gastro Geek stall.
I hope they manage to get permission to do more in the New Year. Watch this space.
